I found this video of the fighter jets flying over the Presidential Building in Taipei, Taiwan on the 10th of October, 2008 which is the National Day or Double Ten Day. It was a big question around Taiwan whether there would be any military presence at this celebration with the newly elected president.
Double Ten Day is one of the most important national holidays in Taiwan. It is a celebration of the Wuchang Uprising that began on October 10, 1911. This uprising led to the collapse of China's Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China (ROC).
Traditionally a big military parade is held near the Presidential Building in Taipei, Taiwan. However, there was a stop to the military parade from 1992 to 2006, the military parade did return in 2007.
The day typically consists of parades, a speech by the president, concerts, performances and of course a HUGE firework show at night.
